Geheel Vrijwillig, meaning 'completely voluntary', was designed to celebrate 125 years of KNHM (Koninlijke Nederlandsche Heidemaatschappij) - an organisation that supports people who want to improve their neighbourhood, village or city.
The assignment involved the design of a book with a lot of numbers, quotes and facts about the company from the last 125 years. Our concept was based around the idea of zooming in and out.
We gave the book a contemporary typographic identity by using the typeface 'LL Brown' and by differentiating the chapters with colours to identify different bites of information. Another important design feature is the use of three colours for the binding threads used in the spine. Pink foil was used on the front cover, if the same font, to invite people to the book.
